Fatty Liver Disease

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, MASLD, affects roughly 30 percent of the global population. Wegovy holds a specific FDA approval for the more advanced form, MASH, while other GLP-1 medications show promising but not yet formally approved results.

Prediabetes

Prediabetes means blood sugar is higher than normal but not yet in the diabetes range. GLP-1 medications are not formally approved specifically for prediabetes, but weight loss through an approved indication can meaningfully improve it.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea is a common obesity-related condition. Zepbound is the only GLP-1-class medication with a specific FDA approval for moderate-to-severe OSA in adults with obesity, working primarily through weight loss.

Obesity

Obesity is a chronic, relapsing medical condition, not simply a matter of willpower, and it is the primary approved indication for weight-management GLP-1 medications like Wegovy and Zepbound.

PCOS

PCOS is a hormonal condition often linked with insulin resistance. Research suggests GLP-1 medications may support weight loss and improved metabolic and reproductive outcomes in PCOS, though they are not formally FDA-approved specifically for this condition.
